FEBRUARY 2012

This month Trevor celebrates 40 years in business. Highlights have included providing personnel to Buckingham Palace for 10 years, managing the switchboards of No, 10 Downing Street, the Palace of Westminster and HM Treasury. His early years telecoms consultancy advised on the technical move of Lloyds to its current location and designed the first digitalised currency conversion display unit at Christie’s. It was heavily involved in the Port Said master plan and, memorably, provided on-site support for the Maldive Islands airport extension.

Over the past 20 years he has carved a reputation as a tenacious and pragmatic expert witness, acting on behalf of claimants and defendants. Being very much a people person, his greatest satisfaction has been derived from the privilege of meeting a vast cross-section of the public from every conceivable area of work and with the broadest range of injury imaginable.

Trevor says he has no intention of giving up work; "There is still so much I want to do". So watch this space!

We are very pleased to announce Phil Perlin has been awarded full membership of the Academy of Experts.

JANUARY 2012

TGA was awarded approved supplier status by FOIL, the Forum of Insurance Lawyers.

DECEMBER 2011

TGA is approved as a Tier 1 expert by APIL, the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. Tier 1 experts are recommended by APIL members.

OCTOBER 2011

TGA is delighted to be shortlisted in the Associated Industries category of the Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards 2011.

SEPTEMBER 2011

Case pleaded at £19M, the bulk of which related to earnings. TGA for the defendants. Settled at £4.5M.

MARCH 2011

Runners-up in the Legal & General Supplier of the Year Awards’ category Shining Star.

We have decided to support two charities this year: Centrepoint and HelpforHeroes.

DECEMBER 2010

The TRG group has been nominated as a Supplier of the Year by Legal and General. TRG has served L&G for a continuous 20 years, managing their switchboard facility.

NOVEMBER 2010

Trevor elected to Fellowship of the Academy of Experts. The criteria for fellowship is that an expert will be able to demonstrate an appropriate high standard of professional competence in their profession or calling and will have wide knowledge and experience as an Expert, Advisor or witness and knowledge of legal procedures and the laws of evidence.

There are just 50 practising Fellows worldwide.

JUNE 2010

John Rollings, having been a Business Mentor for the Prince’s Trust in Norfolk, was appointed as a mentor to the East Midlands area.

MAY 2010

The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers' magazine publishes Trevor's article on the correct application of the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings statistics, which was well received.

JANUARY 2010

Claim which was finally pleaded at £18,000,000 (see January 2009). Claimant awarded £9.3M.

Trevor commended by counsel on his 'stunning performance' in the witness box. "(despite the lack of readily accessible data) Trevor, undeterred, researched the matter thoroughly and presented a very comprehensive report which was of great assistance. What was more important was the clarity with which Trevor presented his evidence-in-chief and the calm, professional and competent manner in which he maintained his opinion under cross-examination".

JULY 2009

• Our contribution for the claimant's case described as "a comprehensive report meticulously researched and supported by good evidence, helping the legal team secure a high seven figure settlement".
• Phil Perlin appointed to Thames Valley Probation Board as Vice Chair at Bullingdon Prison IMB.

APRIL 2009

Trevor advised by defendant client of his "utterly invaluable contribution in helping a claim pleaded at £7M to settle at just over £1M".

FEBRUARY 2009

Ian Webb appointed Regional Judge for the National Training Awards.

JANUARY 2009

TGA was instructed in one of the UK's largest personal injury claims, initially pleaded at £30,000,000, reduced to £22,000,000, then £18M. (see January 2010).
